    just tried (wcsspecial and happynewyear) codes and NOT working for me on a new registration for 3yrs...any others?????

    Believe the codes are only good for one year registration and not good for renewals (I tried and lost).

    Domain registrars send them once in a while to some people (Godaddy is always sending new ones). Regarding Namecheap it's a bit more difficult. They give them to some special clients, and then they get public.
    I heard that they also give some if you request (for renewals). I asked one two weeks ago but still no reply. Some are tied to the client's account, others are public.

    Yeah,Godaddy newsletters are annoying so I unsubscribed it!

    I haven't tried the new codes but one thing I noticed with "YAFFASPECIAL" was that it didn't work for .info domains; may be because they are very cheap at $2.98. So I wonder those guys for whom the new codes didn't work, were they trying to register/renew .info domains?
