Whats so special in MT's GS plan. I looked into their plan and find they limit you on space usages, bandwidth usages, total domains can be hosted, 100 email accounts etc. Also I don't find any dedicated ip, free domain with this plan. If you are planning to host videos on your own site then you need more space. One dedicated ip would be better. So I think you should do more research on this...
If your sites generate 7k/unique a day, I don't think shared hosts suits you. Hence they suspend your site or generate 501 errors because of too much traffic/connections.
The Grid plan has had a very long history of bad uptime, slow speeds, etc. Just do a search for them on the net... If you truly have 20 very busy sites, then you may want to consider a dedicated server, or maybe semi-dedicated hosting?
I agree with lordy - increase your budget, go for a VPS - you can get a good one for around $40-$50 that will suite all your visitors without having to worry about your site getting suspended for too many connections or using too much bandwidth - if you're sites are of value, make sure you take care of them good luck
