Hello All, Please don't ask me why I want to do this. Joomla's CB sucks for SN, but Joomla itself is great for CMS. Nobody beats vB for forums. So that leaves one remaining piece, a MySpace clone. Here is what I am looking for. 1. Users MUST be able to use a MySpace layout. No geeky profile editors and the like. Just a way for users to paste some code in and go. 2. Must have the ability to accept video uploads 3. Would like everything to be laid out via template, or at the least must be open to customization. 4. Would like open source licensed under GPL (Which PHPIzabi is NOT!) 5. The code must run on Linux. I don't do windows. 6. Would like a customizable blog, but at the least a blog function. 7. Ideally it will have chat rooms and IM, but if not can always integrate open source options. 8. Cost for script must be under $1000, and no I don't want a "custom script". I have installed PHPIzabi, and am not interested. If they ever decide to license under GPL, and then allow folks to remove their garbage in the footer, then I might consider them. Buddyzone, well I can't figure out what their deal is. Nobody in the support forums either. Not getting a warm fuzzy about blowing my money on this thing. Any ideas? Above all, whatever it is must be able to use MySpace layouts. Thanks in advance ~C
i saw a bride with joomla and vbulletin on vbulletin.org . i suggest you to search it on vbulletin.org
Thanks, I know there is a bridge between those two products. The real issue I'm trying to overcome is the layouts thing. I want the end user to be able to drop in one of the thousands of available MySpace layouts out there. Which clones allow users to drop in a myspace layout without any changes at all? So far I've found... Buddyzone (Which it seems nobody else is using) PHPIzabi (Which 1 is a security nightmare, 2 does not natively support myspace layouts, and 3. is open source, but not gpl, and they want their copyright crap permanently in my footer. This may not seem like much but wait til the next exploit is found. All these little twirps need to do is google "Powered by PHPIzabi" and you're now an easy target. Leaving the name of the software on your site is not only ugly, but dumb) ...and that's it. The others I have seen, like PHPFox, do not allow the layouts to control everything. ~C
I am looking for a MySpace clone script that uses MySpace layouts. I'm not even considering going with anything but vBulletin, and no, I'm not interested in Wordpress. Thank you, but the thread you are referring to doesn't even come close. ~C
