I just finished some software and a website that allows non-technical users to create animated iPad and iPhone books - primarily for kids. http://www.pubbsoft.com I need feedback in these areas: 1 - General look/feel 2 - Ease of understanding. Do you know what the software does right off the bat? Is it clear that it is free? 3 - The video tutorial. I'm using shadowbox and just fixed some kinks. Is it working for you? 4 - Compelling. Does it make you want to try it out? Thanks!
For me I would say that it's really a compelling site and forces any one to explore more about the site I find the site good as far as the look and feel is concerned 1 - General look/feel 9/10 2 - Ease of understanding. Do you know what the software does right off the bat? Is it clear that it is free? 6/10 till the time we don't clin k on the link I am not sure 3 - The video tutorial. I'm using shadowbox and just fixed some kinks. Is it working for you? Yes 4 - Compelling. Does it make you want to try it out? 9/10
1 - General look 8 2 - At the first visit I don't really know what the site is until 10 minutes later 3 - Yes, but little bit slow 4 - Yes, i want to look about 10 minutes
1 - In my opinion it looks very good and professionally done. 2 - It's easy to understand what the site is about, it was for me. Although, I have one suggestion for you - Learn more link takes you to FAQ section of site, which I think it shouldn't . I expected to see more detailed explanation on how the software is being used, I think the whole process from downloading the software to publishing a story could be explained through 5 steps, with a call to action "Start now" at the bottom. And some graphics would make it much more appealing - page full of text has turned me off. 3 - Unfortunately the video didn't work for me. Overlay has showed up but no video was loaded. I've tried Firefox and Chrome, with no luck. 4 - Although I'm not interested in publishing my stories on iphone/ipad, I think you have a very good concept, which non-technical but creative people will like.
1 - General look/feel - cartoonish and bright colors works for me. catches attention. 2 - Ease of understanding. Do you know what the software does right off the bat? Is it clear that it is free? - i only know that creating account is free. FAQ helps a little bit but the font size is a little bit small IMO. 3 - The video tutorial. I'm using shadowbox and just fixed some kinks. Is it working for you? - yes 4 - Compelling. Does it make you want to try it out? - yes because there is the word "FREE" lol
From my point of view it's great, Very good look and color combination. And people can see what is site for. I mean easy to use.
Nice and clean design. Looks professional. 1. look and feel 9/10 2. At the very first look, i come to know about the softwar that it make animated pictures for ipads, but doesn't come to know about how much skill you need to get started. 3. Video loads very slow for me. 4. I am do not use ipad or iphone, so i don't think of it.
1 - General look/feel Okay. 2 - Ease of understanding. Do you know what the software does right off the bat? Is it clear that it is free? Intention is not easily understandable. Need to be more visualized in detail. Please take care of the fonts. 3 - The video tutorial. I'm using shadowbox and just fixed some kinks. Is it working for you? Nope. QT player? 4 - Compelling. Does it make you want to try it out? No that much i would say on a count of 5 it will be 3.
Thanks for the feedback! I just made some adjustments...not soley based on your comments, but I think its better now. Particularly the video tutorial. http://www.pubbsoft.com Please review: 1 - Video tutorial 2. FAQ page (funky dropdown thing...I'm thinking of changing this) 3. Is the skill level thing still an issue? I'm thinking of doing something more focused on this.
1) I like the layout, the spacing and the idea behind it. I dont like the buttons, shadow effects and bevel suck and make any website look unprofessional. Some of the text you have used makes it look unprofessional. I do like the cartoony theme which matches the product, but the logo doesn't look that great. You have gone overboard of stupid shadow and bevel effects on everything. Colours could be nicer, not very keen on the colouring. 5/10 2) Didnt get it straight away, but didnt take very long to understand what it was about. 8/10 3) Fine 8/10 4) Doesn't really appeal to me, but if I were interested in making iPad books, then I very well may go for your product. 7/10 The design aspect does need another look, it could be so much better, but needs a tidy up and a polish.
1 - General look/feel: Colors are good, but layout could use a more innovative scheme, given the idea. Have to agree, the buttons need an overhaul. The orange button with green stroke is an absolute eyesore. 5/10 2 - Ease of understanding. Do you know what the software does right off the bat? Is it clear that it is free?: Not clear immediately, but doesn't take a genius to find it out soon either. 7/10 3 - The video tutorial. I'm using shadowbox and just fixed some kinks. Is it working for you?: Still waiting for it to load...doubt it will. Lol. 4 - Compelling. Does it make you want to try it out?: No. It looks a tad unprofessional and a bit plain to me. 6/10
1- video tutorial works fine 2- faq dropdown needs to go And about the layout and design - it doesnt't match the content which is a great thing, you need to update layout and design, skip the bevel-and-emboss-button in photoshop(its very 1998), tone down the gradient for the green a tiny bit(like the green, but not so hard gradient) - but it is mainly the buttons I don't like. They are actually quite bad. Redo them, skipt the bevel, not so widely rounded corners and not so hard rollover effects, that's about it.
