I am about to embark on a fully digital album for one of my musicians in my company. I have never done a fully digital release (iTunes, Rhapsody, etc) and going to promote it fully online. As the music industry is changing and a lot going digital I think it would be a prime time for internet marketers to get into. I am looking for people to list tips and ways they have promoted music or think would be a great way. Thanks in advance to everyone.
Anybody have any ideas. Willing to hire someone who has great ideas and can implement them as far as internet marketing but really looking to share tips and advice on selling music online with people
Yeah I have put numerous videos up on youtube for various acts that I have done marketing for etc. I was wondering if internet marketing people may have ideas that people in the music industry arnt thinking of.
There a lot of ways, check out my sig, I'm making a social network soon. But it's my project and mine only right now. There are many ways to get the word out. Anywhere you can post WORDS lol you can advertise. Word of mouth, media, good marketing methods... I'll tell you one easy way that increases your traffic is subliminal marketing. Hidden Symbols, hidden words, provocative sentiences etc. phsycology is a BIG part of marketing! Some of the biggest companies in the world use it.
If you have good music and release it on bitorrent you can get a lot of buzz. If you do this I would contact related torrent sites and asking them to post info about how your music is being released on bitorrent. Monetizing this can be a little more difficult but setting up ads and a paypal donate button should net you some decent cash.
Yeah a lot of the projects I deal with I run a pretty large company so we have contacts with large traditional press and everything so we aren't wanting to give away anything. I thought with the music industry changing to a lot of digital stuff that if we got some internet marketers brainstorming we could come up with a few non-traditional ways to drive a lot of traffic to the artists website or to their iTunes store page, etc.
If you contact me privately, I wouldn't mind chatting with you about this issue - I used to work primarily in music publicity (still do occasionally), and am still heavily networked with independent artists. I keep a finger on the pulse of the online music marketing scene and still write about the topic for artists (and am even incorporating it into a marketing / PR book I'm working on), so I may have a few ideas for you, and vice versa.
hi... ive been doing this for 1,5 years now (mostly youtube promotion) and i have succesfully got people to the top on youtube. If you have questions, just email me. //marc
