With regards to .info domains, is there any particular type of sites that their used for more? or a typical way of using them?
As i have my eye on an available .com and the .info is available very cheaply too and im thinking that i may buy both of them as im thinking i can setup the .info literally as an information link back to the .com

Im i getting the jist of things here regarding correctly using the .info domain?

Info basicaly stands for information. The .com is what everyone is use to and info is newer domain.

If your site is more about information than selling service or product use info. You can use info for anything if you like the price better.

Your idea will work good make sure sites are not duplicate content.

Hi rcj, my site wont be selling a product and wont be primarily information based either but because of the .info being available so cheaply too i feel it is useful to purchase both the .com and .info and il definately not have duplicate content between the two.
My site will be international and i noticed that other extentions are available for certain countries, i may purchase some of these too but im not totally sure about that yet, i dont want to get carried away purchasing the others if il not use them in the end.

I will definately go for both the .com and .info so far though.
