Need Javascript or AJAX contact form

I need a fairly basic contact form that will send a message to my email account. This will need to be a button that, when clicked, will drop down the contact form. Upon sending the message a new screen will appear confirming that the their message has been sent.

what scripting language do you need for email sending?
any particular sizes etc?
