Hello pilot35, I really doubt it, that anyone will give you a golden niche for free. Mostly they are being sold and can be very costly. Why don't you read the news, such as gaming news and upload games which are popular for example. I have done it with a pre release version of Minecraft 1.8 when it came out. I have made over 50$ within a couple minutes.
You need to do research but its also about being aware and creative..There is a NICHE EVERYWHERE you look!! Just look around your house? I see a water bottle, a plasma tv - I mean there are literally niches everywhere !
yes, look around the house, that was one of the first tips I heard years ago. there are actually tools for that. a good think to watch out for is, how many people are advertising on adwords. buy a tool like micro niche finder - and type in anything really broad and start digging

first your Internet connection should be established then you should mind that some sites never open easily not because of the internet but my be this might be caused by jam of many people visiting the site.
