Need ideas for marketing a dating website

I have just made a dating website. www.onlinefriendz.com
Plz give me some ideas how can i promote it. I m getting lot of visitors daily but only few registrations. i need members on my site.

 

(1) I'd go for a mild change in colors. You are currently using colors that doesn't match, hence is causing a lack of "trust" in your site. I would opt for a new site design. People who are looking to date online are looking for more that just a website. They are looking for a place where they feel comfortable enough to disclose their personal information. If they don't have a good opinion on your site design at first glance, they won't sign up.

(2) This is perhaps the most heavy page i've visited this month. Geez, it took like 20 seconds to load on cable connection. Consider making your pages lighter...not more than 75 K (includin pictures if possible)

(3) Ensure that people visiting those pages are targeted, i.e looking to make friends online or date. targeting your audience is a key factor.

Test those 3 things and you should do well.

Where are your visitors coming from? If you're running an ad campaign, you might consider changing what sites you advertise on. If you're getting it from search engine terms, you could need different ones.

 

I agree, it loaded slowly on my comp too and I'm on cable connection as well. I also noticed the site stretches out, then collapses into place after all the images load.

One possible way to solve this is by using the CSS overflow attribute. For example, if your page is 779 width, then use a div tag like so:

Nice site, but yes, it really is too heavy and slow to load... people are busy nowadays. So, it's a very good business-idea to make it lighter.

Some more tips...

For me it looks, you need to make it Viral... I mean, it's a good idea to have there on your site something that people want for themselves and also want to send it to their friends, too.

I regognized you have some articles on your site. Just take the articles you already have, then include some more content - and compile a nice free PDF-eBook. People just love to download free stuff and share it with their friends (if it is good stuff, of course) "My seven secrets for Hot Dating" or something more grapping.

If you need some more content, there are competent fellow writers here in DP forums, for example Laura aka. "lrupent" wrote me some nice articles. I can highly recommend Laura. Search her and other writers.

When you have those articles, you could use some of them (or some variations of them) as Viral Articles and submit them to Article Directories for other webmasters to use on their sites. With your links of course. There are tons of article directories, ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com are ok. Also, there are some good article directories run by fellow members of DP, take a look at their signatures.

When you have your eBook ready, you need to tell people about it. Then helps a nice eCover for your eBook. A nice eCover will actually skyrocket your downloads. You can nowadays buy some software to produce those eCovers, and some of them actually work quite nice - if you have enough designer skills and other software needed. An other possibility is to invest a few more bucks and talk to a real designer, for example:

Now you have a Great eBook with an attractive eCover... people start to download it and send it to their friends... you'll get more and more natural traffic.

It looks good, but don't stop there. It's a good idea to include a nice "Tell a friend" or "Invite a friend" -form to make the recommendation(s) easy. In one of my cases, for example, an average 12.5% of people recommend the eBook to their friend(s) -- it's totally free fraffic of hot prospects for you. Don't forget it. At the moment you're actually hiding your tiny Tell a Friend -form... don't be shy, it's an important part of your site.

If you're willing to invest a couple of more bucks and a reasonable amount of your time, you could set up an autoresponder series with at least of 7 messages (I have autoresponder series from 7 to 52 messages, all work great for their purposes). Autoresponders can run on your server (I use "Autoresponse Plus") or you can rent the service ("Aweber" is widely used)

By combining the both, eBook and autoresponder, you're actually building an automated viral machine, that works. You actually can't even stop it, if you do it right (been there, seen it, done it) This strategy really works, but need quite a lot of work. No free lunch here

You could set up an affiliate program... give your affiliates quality material and make it easy and lurative for them to promote your service. The way your affiliate program is set up at the moment, is not lurative or informative. Sorry. If you run out of ideas, just surf the net for great affiliate programs to get some inspiration.

If you have budgets, you can try adwords and facebook ads.

 

Alot of people that market dating sites usually do so on Criagslist. They use auto posting software, private proxies, and an email auto responder.
