    Hello Dp-ers

    My name is Nick and I recently started Soul Web Works . The whole Idea behind Soul Web Works is to conduct SEO Experiments, test out different SEO strategies and share the results publicly . So we actually know what works and what doesn't.

    Few of my ideas include

    - Testing out which strategy works best to get a site indexed
    - What kind of links work best ( article , blog comments, forum post , rss directories , directories , press releases, link wheels..... )
    - Does Nofollow links effect serps
    - Duplicate content penalties
    - Does spinned content really work ?

    I am looking for more such ideas from you people . It would be nice if you people would contribute in making Soul Web Works a success .

    You could do this (I got this idea from somewhere else, I forgot where).

    You could create separate pages on your website like "penny's flowers" for example. Then SEO it in a certain way and then see how that SEO technique worked and publish them on your website.

    Then create other pages and use different SEO techniques and find the best practices through trial and error.

    This may be a dumb idea but oh well =]

    @GeekHang

    No its not an dumb idea. I was thinking about selecting a very low compeition keyword and try to get different subdomains/ domains to rank for them and each with different type of backlinks.

    @Kuldep
    I am not promoting ,I am just looking for ideas

    @Monsia
    Things in seo usually does not happen so fast if you are in a competitive niche. Patience is a virtue

    Nice one! If someone writes "check out my keyword here" rather than "check out my keyword" does Google ignore the keyword. I know that conventional wisdom says that it's only the anchor text that gets considered but the practice of linking off "here" or "click here" is so common that I wouldn't be surprised if they'd worked it in somehow. Obviously it could just be that the link increases quality metrics rather than relevancy metrics and they compensate for that somewhere else in the algo but it would be interesting.

    It would also be good to know at what point does perfect anchor text become suspicious? Is there a magical point where engines decide that too many of your links use the same anchor text and stop counting?

    Hey,

    This could be a good idea.
    The best place to start is to try and figure out the over 200 things that google ranks each website for. once you have your list of over 200 items then the problem comes down to what sort of wait does google put on each item. such as the title of a web page is this more or less important than the meta keywords of a web page.

    It would be a good idea to test the 'bad' practices not just the 'good' practices.

    Like build 1000 links to a site in 1 week and see if you get punished.

    Well , I was thinking more of what all onpage parameters does google take into account. I will be doing something along that line for sure.

    On-page:
    Keyword density, aritcle length, tags individual effect - (Google, Yahoo and Bing apart).

    Off-page
    Effect of nofollow links, how (or how not) many links from the same site get disvalued, if Google care about where on the page a link is placed, if inner-pages are easier to increase ranking of than the front page, if Google differ comment links from other links on a page, just how effective your shitty spammed (niche related) forum links are ;)

    Then if I were you I'd try things that havent been done a million times before, there's no doubt about the answers to any of that and a quick Google search will find you examples of people testing this stuff publicly for many years now

    lol, yes wouldn't it just..

    @ dudue 91,

    How about checking the different strategies, where in if suppose there is no market for certain keywords which you are targeting, if you change them, whats the SERP's effect.

    If you have a well internal linking with good user readable content and links with good URL rewriting.. then you can have excellent results from the off page you perform.
