Hello everybody , I'm thinking of making a car related site , with things like news , rumors about new models , car reviews ,some buying advice maybe..etc. Do you think that it could work , that it's a good ideea ? And I wanted to ask you if you could please tell me a few things that you'd like to see on such a site. I'd be gratefull if you could help me. Thank you.
There are many auto sites on the web already. But I believe that you can find your own niche. Are you planing to make it international or you will focus on specific region? I will suggest you to provide more technical data, maybe focus on green technology, not sure, but you need a focus. If you want to make it more general you will need more resource and people to contribute.
Car or automotive in general is a competitive niche. You need to choose on a very specific topic. Focus on one single thing. Making it too general won't help you at all. If you're interested in reviewing new car models, then go for that.
I thought about doing this many, many years ago. It never got off the ground because of school and stuff...
I wanted to be international , the thing is I like cars very much and every day I read news and things about new models , so I won't be very hard to gather all the info I find on the web on a single site ( this is about hte news). Then I want to review cars maybe even with video , but that's the problem should it be general or just green or cheap cars or just sport cars ..etc I don' know about you but I'm not very in to tuning so it isn't really planed to have a tuning section but again that's just me..
well i ma also do not have much experience about it but i think u can find the info of the car from japan and if u have nay friend u can aske hi there my uncle do that business in japan so he send me car so low price and also u can find it on net what u want to know about it
I didn't quite understand what you wanted to say , but I don't want to focus just on japanes or european or american , I want to have news from each niche.
This is really a nice idea. BTW, already there are too many websites. If you create an unique one, you can stand succesfully.
That's what I want to make something different , something better , but what exactly would make my site better than others ?
Good quality, Original content on your chosen niche. Something to make people visit YOUR website as opposed to anyone elses.
The content will be original , I'll go and take a drive test , make pictures and review the car , as for the news just the spyshots will be found on other sites as for the text I plan to make it myself
Good luck with this -- you will, like everyone else has said, need something to make you stand out. How about a section for classic cars? All too much in the time of 370Z's and G35's, the love for classic cars is lost. Maybe you can feature a different classic car every week, and throughout the week show different pictures of it, etc.
I did thought of something similar , and each week present an article with something like a GOLF MK1 GTI or BMW 5 series from the 70's,old Ford GT..etc And another thing , do you think it should be a little funny similar to Top Gear ?
It depends if you're a funny person, or not. You definitely should NOT force the humor because your site will end up cheesy, and therefore, not gain any traffic. Doing something like this is difficult; it's like trying to make "mybooker"..which would be a mix of myspace+twitter+facebook..yeah, all 3 things are popular, but would they be popular together? Lol
I think it would be more visited if it were more funnier but again what's funny for me maybe it's not funny for some else ..so I'll keep it more serious.OTher ideas ?
