What's the .exe like?
If it's not an one as complex as MS Office, you may also run it on Linux through wine (search winehq against google).

For hosting an EXE will i need a VPS/Dedicated? I'm not entirely sure what the requirements for the EXE is, it's not for me. I will find out more info ASAP.

i need to run some windows program (exe's) too, the software won't provide any services to clients, it would just need to connect to the internet 24/7, assuming :
1. 500Mhz Processor speed
2. 500MB disk space
3. 96MB Ram Space
4. Remote Desktop Connection
5. 1GB Bandwith
will install 3 custom made software into the vps..
