Hi I'm searching a new host for my blog since I have some problem with my old host, but it seems quite hard to find one, I need these criteria:

    1. able to customise own template, html, insert some external scripts like a counter, insert embedded media player, etc
    2. with a community so there may have some readers, so using softwares like wordpress is not the choice as I don't want to blog alone..., prefer an international (rather than local) community with search/ location/ catergory functions
    3. better both members and other visitors can comment...
    4. search engine friendly
    5. Chinese access ( e.g. blogspot is blcoked...) as I like some Chinese readers and some friends are from China, I'm not in China though.

    Anyone has any idea? Thanks.

hostso is cheap and un-mettered bandwidth
I also use tmd hosting. If you want more bang for the buck I recomend tmd. As long as your videos are embedded you should have no problem with either host. Both have one click download for free site software and sitebuilder.
ps wordpress has advanced well past the blog stage and is now the most recognized and versitile cms available. What you need is some one to build the site if you are not aware of how advanced wordpress has become.
    pss tmd allows wordpress-mu

I suggest that you go for Hostgator. I have been using it since many years without a problem. Their support is also good.

iPage is really bad. My websites are down at least a few minutes every day. I receive my emails 30 minutes to 1 hours late all the time. My websites load extremely slowly.

I recommend Hostgator. I am waiting for their BlackFriday sale to move my sites there.
