We decided to have our email campaigns and e-zines in-house. So I need hosting that will allow us to do that, not just 200 emails an hour. Server space is not that important as we are not planning to host more then unsubscribe options and images.
Would be great if the hosting had a autoresponder software installed, but it's not vital.

You will need a VPS. No shared host will let you send more than 300-400 emails an hour. What are your requierments and budget? cPanel?

Your probably right about needing a VPS.
I use LunarPages and their email send rate limit for shared hosting plans:
    • 20 emails per minute
    • 600 emails per hour
    • 14400 emails per day

The resouceful share hosting like routhost.com, which is particluarly very good for hosting eCommerce projects wopul allow you to send emails in quantity you like.

If youwould decide to get a VPS, I shall recommend apthost.com to look through. This is a very stable and reputable company - good to deal with.

how many emails do you plan on sending out each day? If it's not too much for now you could set up cron jobs or get a mailing list and send out emails accordingly every hour until they are all sent out - even if you get a vps and try to send out a thousand emails in one second, you put the server at risk of shutting down - it does take a lot of CPU to process something like that
