I own a domain at www.jumba.com.au, I don't want to pay for their hosting so I'm wondering if there is another way to host a site there. If I register for a free host, do I just enter the DNS and domain and I should be able to upload a site there? I'm not sure about this.
I've never actually used Jumba but most domain registrars make it easy to host somewhere else (including free hosts) simply by entering DNS servers into your "member centre" or "domain control panel". If in doubt, just send a support request to Jumba or look up their knowledge base or FAQ if they have one! The Millzman.
If you want to use that domain you will have to get a real host. Those free hosts is really a different type of hosting. You'll probably want to get a cPanel account. $9.95 would be the monthly price but you can host unlimited domains (websites) This is the most popular way because it's really powerful, easy to use and pretty cheap. Let me know if you have questions, I can send you to a company I've been using for a long time and is well known. HostGator. I've been with them for years and consider myself a power user.
If you would like me to help you set up your domain on paid or free hosting pm me and ill be of service. I could show you through aswell Thanks.
So it will have to be paid hosting for sure? And do all customers to that site have the same DNS or different?
Hello, You can just register for a free host that allow your own domain and change the NS that your free host provides you If you want quality paid webhosting then we can offer you some good plans on http://torxhost.com/hosting/ Thanks, Freddy
Free hosting is not durable. If you intend to work hard on your domain, get a paid hosting. Nothing comes free and if it comes its not worth.
