Actually one of my friends is running a web directory. Few days back there was a sponsor submission with 3 additional links (internal pages). Yeh, web directory is offering 3 additional links in detailed page with the submissions. But the problem is, those are not internal pages like xyz.com/xyz1.html. Those are sub-domains and out of 3 links, only one can be found in the home page. Others are not available. So, my friend is in dilemma whether to include those links or not especially those which do not have existence in home page. Help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I think, its better to contact the directory owner..

I suppose subdomain links = internal links .

it is up to you to accept it or not, i.e. sub domain may be related to the domain itself. It is based on your friend's TOS. Well, I would not have any problem with such sub domain listing.

You guys are right but the fact is, 2 links are not available in the home page. Still you consider that is acceptable.

maybe you can also ask what the other pages are pointing to? are they related to the topic on the homepage or are they totally different? Are they pointing to quality content? Clarification with the directory owner is also ideal, as at least u can explain your concerns in the event you need to reject or make some amendments to their submission. At least that is what i will do =)

That’s fine jl255 but what if the internal links has separate entity, if it is not linked with the submitted domain.

This again shows that Directory owners should have some standarad TOS for accepting links or some common rules

Agree, but there are some circumstances which can’t be assumed and need to be acted upon as and when they happen. And for newbies, it is a little difficult task.
