Your flash landing is pretty cool, you can use fancybox for your portofolio images, fancybox always looks cute. check it out if you haven't heard about: fancybox.net, best of luck.

Just thought i'd give you some advice, Your site design is nice and has nice elements but, flash is really over rated. People (for the most part) do not like to go to websites that have all the "bells and whistles". the reader want something simple easy to navigate and located information. Your layout its just that. its easy simple, and clean. keep it like that and dont flash it. I can help you with the coding as you asked as well.

If you can code the site nicely without flash even pm me and we will come to some sort of agreement at this point i have done so many portfolio designs i just want one of them to stick and to be done but i have finally realised that i cant do that by myself I'm just not efficient enough to code unfortunately.

To be perfectly honest, that as a website is pretty lacking. It lacks interactivity which flash, does best. I don't agree with a lot of the things in MrKushlys post but I do agree with the suggestion that it shouldn't be flash. Although, if you were to add more interactivity to the flash, improved the look to take advantage of the features of flash and added something to draw the user in it would be much more acceptable to use that to showcase your work.

I also suggest that you take advantage of your past work and integrate into the design of your website, regardless if you use flash or not.

However, you have not replied my message, it seems that it has made you recognize the basics for a portofolio website.
For any personal portofolio website the best interactivation method is using a friendly about me badge. Don't use flash at all. I advice you to have a clean and easy to navigate menu with a fetured content slider just under it. If you can get a good coder to implement it perfectly, check this out : http://cssglobe.com/lab/easyslider1.5/05.html

I don't know if I would necessarily agree with everyone saying not to use flash. Why not? This is his portfolio, it's meant to showcase his talents and skills. If I designed interactive media I wouldn't think twice about using flash.

For a personal portfolio there's nobody limiting your creativity or any deadlines. You can go all out and really wow potential clients with the design and the functionality (since it's a live site).

Now as far as the design goes:
    - The header should be at the top or more prominent. It looks fine when everything plays because you can follow the order but otherwise my eyes read the sections at the top first. I like the position of the header because it's unconventional.
-The text on the sections is too big and looks sloppy the way it's placed. You can probably find a better way to tie it in with the design.
-The diagonal stripes behind your header are kindof cliche. I'd either make them more interactive or replace them with some illustration work.
-The header text is too plain.
-Flashwise, the way everything slides in is kindof boring right now. Do something creative

One idea I had while looking at your design was instead of having the buttons at the top you could replace them with just text links over your header (so it looks like a normal website), then have it so that when you click one of those links the whole design moves down the page, the diagonal lines behing the header could move to show its loading, and then a box attached to the text slides up (similar to the buttons you have now). You could make it so that you can cycle through different thumbnails and then have them appear in a slider out drawer in the bottom or something. Maybe not the best idea in the world but you get the idea of making things more interactive.

BTW your name on deviantart looked familiar, I think we used to know each other. Have you ever been on RZ or do you know ipixel?
