Hi guys, I just started my first gaming forum and began advertising today. I submitted to search engines, web directories, forums. I first noticed that people said to use social bookmarking websites like digg.com. Can someone tell me how exactly I would use social bookmarking sites? Also I'm going to be making a sitemap but can some people give some other ways of promoting my site. Also if you guys could review my website and check out if my keywords are all correct? It would really be helpful since this is my first website and I'm all new to the SEO thing. www.cpugamers.com
I think you should find out the top thread of the month and digg it, this will help you to generate traffic and get few members.
So I should just find a top thread and then post the thread on digg and other social bookmarking sites?
hi, get more and more backlinks and also submit more and more social bookmarks and you will get it very soon...
exodian1, I had posted before my point of view according your this query, for your reference, please refer below: How to bring your website in top 10?????? 1st- You have to know, it is more important in keyword, not in domain name. 2nd- People search is based on their needs, problems and etc..therefore, they will use keywords to search rather than use your domain name. It shows domain name is less important here. Another tips to share are: 3 types of Keywords:- 1. Seed Keywords (1-2 words) 2. Broad Keywords (2-3) 3.Buying Keywords. (3 +words) Buying keywords is combined 3 or more words. Any industry you try to be in, must have at least 5 Buying Keywords. It will help you in your ranking page. Hope it helps.
When submitting to digg or other social bookmarking sites ensure that the keywords used and title, description is similar to what you used in your site. This way the links become relevant. Build links regularly. The no of meta keywords in your site should not be very high.
I now checked- your site doesn't have any keywords, description tags! Submited you your site to WebMastersTools? Made you sitemap? About social media sites- most of them don't give backlinks, because most of them are no-follow, but it can to give you a lot of traffic, if you will bring your site to front page. And more- good SEO strategy! What's it? Before you begin to write line of code: o Do keyword research to determine what keywords you want to target. Good tools to use for keywords research are Google’s Adwords Keyword Suggestion Tool and Google Trends. You have to keep in mind that tools like Google’s Adwords Keyword Suggestion Tools and Wordtracker are not to be taken word for word. You are presumed to look at the volume of keyword searches by volume proportional to each other and major search terms. That will give you an idea of how frequently a search term is being used. Period creating your website you should do the following: * Use markup to indicate the content of your site o Create unique Meta Tags for each page o Use header tags appropriately (H1 > H2 > H3) o Use <b> and <i> tags if appropriate * Optimize your URLs o Use keywords in your domain o Use keywords in your URL (http://www.example.com/keyword2/keyword3.html) o Use dashes or underscores to separate words in your URLs (keyword2-keyword3.html) * Optimize your content o Use keywords liberally yet appropriately in every each page o Write unique content o Write quality content * Use search engine friendly design o Create a human sitemap o Do not use inaccessible site navigation (JavaScript or Flash menus) o Minimize outbound links o Keep your pages under 100K in size o Keep the number of links on a page to less then 100 * Design the navigational structure of the site to channel PR to main pages (especially the homepage) * Create a page that encourages webmasters to link to your site o Provide them the relevant HTML to create their link to you (make sure the anchor text contains keywords) o Provide them with any images you may want them to use (although text links are better) Immediately, after starting your site you should do the following: * Create Webmaster Accounts o Google Webmaster Tools o Yahoo! Site Explorer o Live Search Webmaster Center * Submit your site to all three major search engines o Google o Yahoo (Use the page list option) o MSN * Create an XML sitemap * Submit your site to all free directories. Do it by hand. It will not take long to do and will ensure that you are successful in submitting each form with the correct information. There is a constant debate about how search engines feel about automated submission software. Since there is a reasonable chance these are frowned upon by the search engines, and since you can do anything they can do on your own, you might as well avoid them. o DMOZ (also powers Google Directory) o JoeAnt * Submit your site to relevant directories (directory lists below) o Directory Critic o Directory Rate o ISEDB * Begin a link building campaign (attempting to get keywords in the link anchor text) o Put a link to your website in your forum signatures o Reply to relevant blog posts (Don’t spam please) If you will pay to promote your website: * Submit your site to pay directories o Yahoo o GoGuides Finally, as part of an ongoing strategy: * Continually update your website with quality, unique content * Continually seek free links preferably from sites in your genre
