Hi guys,
I just started my first gaming forum and began advertising today. I submitted to search engines, web directories, forums. I first noticed that people said to use social bookmarking websites like digg.com. Can someone tell me how exactly I would use social bookmarking sites? Also I'm going to be making a sitemap but can some people give some other ways of promoting my site. Also if you guys could review my website and check out if my keywords are all correct? It would really be helpful since this is my first website and I'm all new to the SEO thing.

I think you should find out the top thread of the month and digg it, this will help you to generate traffic and get few members.

 

So I should just find a top thread and then post the thread on digg and other social bookmarking sites?

1st- You have to know, it is more important in keyword, not in domain name.

2nd- People search is based on their needs, problems and etc..therefore, they will use keywords to search rather than use your domain name.

It shows domain name is less important here.

Another tips to share are:
3 types of Keywords:-

1. Seed Keywords (1-2 words)
2. Broad Keywords (2-3)
3.Buying Keywords. (3 +words)

Buying keywords is combined 3 or more words.
Any industry you try to be in, must have at least 5 Buying Keywords.
It will help you in your ranking page.

When submitting to digg or other social bookmarking sites ensure that the keywords used and title, description is similar to what you used in your site. This way the links become relevant. Build links regularly. The no of meta keywords in your site should not be very high.

 

I now checked- your site doesn't have any keywords, description tags! Submited you your site to WebMastersTools? Made you sitemap?
About social media sites- most of them don't give backlinks, because most of them are no-follow, but it can to give you a lot of traffic, if you will bring your site to front page.

* Begin a link building campaign (attempting to get keywords in the link anchor text)

If you will pay to promote your website:

* Submit your site to pay directories

o GoGuides

Finally, as part of an ongoing strategy:

* Continually update your website with quality, unique content
* Continually seek free links preferably from sites in your genre
