The cms need to have category-based posting
If you haven't already, I highly recommend visiting OpenSourceCMS where you can review the popular CMS and even go through a live demo of each option. I'm partial to Drupal but there are others that are quite popular as well such as Joomla. Hope that helps with a little additional information for you to review. -mnc
I have used Joomla extensively, but there are a few problems to it. So i would suggest you determine what you need first. If you have a requirement of good SEO and member groups, joomla would nopt do that out of the box for you. Drupal in comparison is much more flexible, but you need to know your basics for it, like html, css and a bit of php if you have some advanced requirements.
Since I haven't used Joomla much I cannot comment on their support, but the Drupal support forums are fantastic. If you cannot find the answer already covered there, most questions are usually answered quickly and properly. -mnc
By my experience its been the other way round. I asked a question a month ago about multisite support in drupal where I wanted to share the database, so I could use common data and userbase but vary the theme and few nodes, thats yet to be answered. Also their forum is a bit confusing, when I did searches for modules its not very well categorized.(Joomla has a separate extensions section) The whole web 2.0 approach of Drupal is a bit confusing. But thats just my opinion.
Which CMS is better for SEO? I heard that Joomla is not as good as Drupal for SEO. Is this still correct, or have things changed?
ARTIO JoomSEF is great for rewriting URLs to be search engine friendly I'm also experimenting with a menu system that will give me Suckerfish menus
I just said it is not possible out of the box. Of course 3PD components are there especially Artio is very nice. But for noobs its going to be a bit of work to figure out all this.
