Need help with web design, I am new, trying to help many people with my website!

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by alexistheboss15, Dec 16, 2012.

I am 17 years old, and have no experience in programming, I have an understanding of computers as most people do, however have never owned my own website.
I am in the process of purchasing a domain, and I was told to use iPage as a hosting service as it is the best for newbies.

What I want the site to look like:
    Setup_zpsb3ef2eac.jpg

That is the very basic design I am looking for, for every page obviously.
I need help with tips on how to do it etc, my skype is: ProTrader155, please pm me here if you add me.

Thanks for the help in advance

If you are new to web designing and all i would suggest you to take some courses about this and also help from someone who is near to you because that will help you to understand things better.

What you're asking is like "I've never held an instrument before, and I just want to play a symphony". "Just making a website", even if you use Wordpress or some other CMS, isn't something you can do over a weekend. Learn first. Don't even think of buying hosting until you've learned more, or you'll be wasting at least a month's payment and probably not getting what you need. (There's no such thing as a host that's better for newbies.)

Install xampp on your computer, download Wordpress, install it on your computer, and at least it won't cost you anything and if you totally mess it up you can just delete everything and start again.

But I'd still follow imranamen's suggestion and find someone locally who could help you. There must be at least one person in your school who does web development.

If you don't have knowledge of programming than its better to download some free template and edit it as per your requirement.

There are many options for it.You can use ready made templates and edit them as per your requirement but for that you must have knowledge about HTML and CSS...or the another option is you can design it by using WordPress. It is very easy to use and helpful to newbies.I will suggest first learn designing on Lynda.com.

I think you first off you have to be aware of some HTML and CSS coding before you try Wordpress to facilitate your working.

Designing and developing a website without having proper coding knowledge about any programming language is not easy , i prefer you to first learn some technique and then go for it . You can use w3 school for learning web design.
