Need help with uploading forum to webspace

Hi, im trying to upload a phpbb forum board to my space, ive unzipped it and tried uploading all the files, but when i go to mysite/install, theres nothing there except the usual adverts, do i need to put it all its own folder because its currently just in the main directory of my ftp? anyone know what im doing wrong thats done this before? Any help would be appreciated.
