Well i recently sold a site and i am having trouble sending the domian to the new owner. It might be a nooby questions, but where do i start am i ment to change the whois information? transfer it to him?. What ever it is could some one explain to me how to do it because im having a hard time and its not fair on the buyer. thanks in advance If this is in the wrong place i apologize
that has nothng to do with the whois data but with the registrar - where YOU hve your domain purchased - for example networksolutions.com there you might find in your registrants account page a link to change ownership/name of the registrant contact YOUR registrar's website and read his procedure to transfer from one owner to another YOU are registrant the one who registered the domain is registrar you also may have to see who is your admin contact for your domain - you or your registrar
Never heard of them. Have you tried e-mailing their support about an ownership change within the registrar? They may not even support that and your only option will be to transfer out to another registrar and then push it to the buyer there.
i have opened a ticket with them but there customer serivce is shit to say the best. How would i go about transfering it to another registrar?
You can initiate the transfer at the registrar of your choice. It will cost you around the price of a one year registration though as it adds a year onto the registration of the name.
ok thanks, i will try that just one problem does anyone know of a registrat that allows paypal funds to pay for things? , godaddy dont they allow paypal but have to pay via card.
I know DomainSite and NameCheap both accept PayPal. Try one of them. I'm not sure if you need to pay via a credit card or not though.
if you only have one domain there . . . just give him your username and password . . . make sure to change all personal information you dont want to give out ESP cc #.
i have a few domains there, (which will be changing very soon) but im going to transfer it to namecheap than give him the acount witht he extra year onit.
