You must port forward and open port 80 for other people to see your website on the internet.

For pointing a domain to your external IP. You need to create an A name record. Free DNS service will suffice such as www.everydns.com.

u need to have your the domain to be pointed to your IP, ability to create nameservers and such which you cant really do with a home ISP. more advisable that you get a hosting rather than hosting of your own and if you want to try it out, get a VPS and install GUI on it ;)

You need to find your public IP, go to some where like ipchicken.com.
192.168.0.4 is your LAN ip address therefore only people at your house can see this, when you go on the internet you you a WAN IP this is what people need to connect to, that what ipchicken will tell you.
You now need to get a domain name and point this to that IP address.
If you have a dsl connection with a IP address that changes (dynamic) you will have to use a program that changes your domain IP when your home IP changes.

    Hi.

I ran a server at home for over Two years on a 20Mb/s Down 1.8Mb/ Upload with great success.

It's simple with the right tools.

Apart from Port Forwarding, Setting up Dynamic IP Address problems do you understand how to write a Virtul Host Container for apache ? without a VH container nothing will work.
I have never experienced problems with any ISP in the UK, I requested port 80 open and they told me no problem.

    PM me

Who's your ISP, most ISP's do not even allow port 80 to be open, except DSL lines which are terrible as is.

100Mbps is your internal NIC speed, and that's your internal IP.

Whatsmyip.org will tell you what your external IP is.
