Hey everyone! First time post! I just recently put up ads on my Technology Blog (techmanifesto.com). I have a few questions. Is it better to use image, text, or image and text for highest revenue. I am using only image now to make it stand out more. Also, I have one in the footer and one in the header, is this good to put two ads on the same page? Where do you guys think would be the best placement for this layout for the most amount of clicks. Any suggestions help, thanks so much again for all the responses!

you will probably need to experiment to see how the ads suit your site. however, i'd guess that the ad in the footer is getting to many clicks. You may want to try to integrate ads into the left column for more exposure.

If you choose 'Image and Text' ads, Google will automatically display the highest earning ad. Sometimes an image....sometimes text....

use a mix of both for know until you get some traffic to your site. As i always say you are going to find the best match for your site, after you experiment. There are alot of factors that changes you click rate. And this factors change for everysite.

I'd stay you need a banner down either the left or the right side that is more visible that what you have now. On my site the right side banner gets by far the most clicks.

you need a (good blended) link unit at the top of your site, that would perform good.

The placement is not toobad as it is. Can't you get ads in between posts as well?

Well, when you put more ads on your page...you get some of the lower paying ads on your page. If you have only one ad unit, for example, they will be the higher paying ad units...still that doesn't mean you shouldn't use more than one. I think you should put one on the left under your navigation, so people will see it when they scroll down...
