I am not criticizing the Red color as a color I am trying to point out the degree it is being used into. The site is not looking appealing enough to a user (You are using a text instead of a logo, and within the existing degree of red, it is not comfortable enough to the eye) It might be a good idea to customize the heading and the logo (it is always better to have a logo image over a text). As well as the menu.
As far as the color concerned, you may want to check this page out: http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/color-meaning.html Red represents and bunch of different things some of which are not so flattering: danger (traffic lights, stop signs) or rage, anger (somebody's face turning red from rage). Also, the McDonalds' and BK's red is a plain dark red. In your case it is scarlet. It looks very scarlety in my iPad mini. You may want to try to use a regular dark red (something like: #D10000).
It's better to my taste. Actually, if you look at the header and then scroll to the footer, it will begin to burn your eyes! Seriously, that's how bright that other red looks. I think you should keep the darker red. Your search fields and links stand out better that way too.
Just wanted to say, that's a nice name and all the best. Keep at it and you never know! Quickad has some good tips for you.
Thanks and you are 100% correct ...Quickad has awesome advice. Being in the hospitality business for years, I was tired of the same and needed something new. I know it has many possibilities; however, it's like - what do I do next? It's like having a million $$ but no place to spend it. LOL
