Well I just build my new computer put everything in and turned it on and it actually works! yay! but one problem. Nothing shows up on the monitor...

the vid card is a Gforce9800 GTX+ and for some reason its working on this computer that i'm using now but not on the new one. What do you think it is? Is it the vid card or the monitor?

Is the monitor on? Does BIOS display? Are both monitor cables plugged in correctly?

yes the monitor is on, no bios doesn't display nothing shows on the monitor it just says "no signal".

About both monitor cables well. on this computer i'm using now i only really use 1 of them and it works fine. This same plug fits into the new comp but the other one doesn't. Could it be that second plug or since the first plug works with this computer it should work with that 2?

I mean that the need both the power cable into the monitor and the white/blue one.

If BIOS doesn't even display it seems like the monitor isn't plugged into the graphics card correctly.

so your saying I would need both plugs and its the monitor plug right?

not the vid card? cuz when i turn on the computer the vid cards fan is on so i'm assuming its in correctly and works.

Btw the other plug from my monitor doesn't fit into the vid card thing. I went to frys, radio shack, etc and nowhere has an adapter that can fit from my monitor plug to the vid card. What should i do?

The monitor turns on, and BIOS doesn't display so it seems the white/blue cable is not plugged in or not working.

If you have verified that it's plugged in correctly then the cable type may be incompatibable with the graphics card, I have a VGA to DVI connector right here, so I know there are people who sell them. ;) From what I read one of these would help you, or you haven't plugged things in correctly.

The video card shouldn't keep a monitor from displaying. It has to be a connection issue with your cables.

well everythings plugged in. My question is the white plug fits in. The blue plug doesn't fit, but do I really need the blue plug to make this work, or should it work just fine with just the white one?

It 'should' work with either the blue or white cable, assuming it's an LCD monitor.

But I have had problems in the past where only one or the other will work with a particular monitor or graphics card.

Is it Vista? I had trouble finding working audio drivers for Vista.

What are the problem with the monirot/graphics card?

Volume on the speakers and the OS, mute, check drivers under devices under computer properties.
