What are you thinking of doing now? It is difficult to help you if we don't know where your head is at.
First of all you must have an realistic goal and devise a plan on how to get their. For instance my goal for the coming years is to keep building a useful education website that has a number of competitive keywords placed on the first page of Google.com and .UK. To get their I require to get a good number of quality links pointing to not only my homepage, but also to inner pages. Good well written content, appropriate meta tags, and titles and of course research your choice of keywords that you wish to be found for. This is only a start on page and of course it takes time.
Any plans you make must have a "to do" by date. If you do not know when you have to have something completed - you will never achieve what you want. Firstly do you have a niche? Have you done any research in that niche to see if you have a product that anyone wants? Are you going to create a product like an ebook, video, audio etc or do you have the product already? How are you intending getting traffic to your site? If you are going to create something yourself make sure you have a completion day. Write out what you want to achieve both in the income you desire and the time you will take to get that money. If you do not have written goals - you only have dreams.
I'm working on adding more pages to by site... it's basically a classifieds website... and so I am posting dummy entries to the site, genuine content, no copy paste.. So I might get more traffic because of more pages.. plus I am planning to gain links from Bookmarks, Forums, and Directories for start... Later On I will work articles, blogs, commenting and classifieds to gain links as well... When this is done as well.. I might give a banner ad to some relevant site... so that people may find out about my site.... I'm going real slow, I plan to go with forums first, because it is the best way to gain completely unique and quality links... Is this fine ? or do you suggest something else ?
