Hi All, I am working on a keyword having competition of 19,800,000 in Google.com.au. For this keyword my site is ranking on 10th position and targeting internal page. But I want the google crawler to focus on homepage instead of internal page. Please help me to solve this issue. Thanks, Kpathak.
do link building campaign with your keyword as the anchor text and link it to your home page instead of the internal page. You can see the difference after few weeks.
Don't forget to vary the anchor text so it doesn't trigger any alarm. You might also want to include a link from the page that ranks towards the homepage.
Make sure your on-page SEO for the Home page is also focussing on the keyword (so make sure it is in the title etc)
how are you planing your link building campaign? if you are building backlinks to front page, then your front page should rank. the way it is now, looks like your inner page got ranked by itself. if yuo want your front page to rank, then just keep building links to the front page using your targeted keyword as an anchor text. thats all there is to it.
If you want to rank for your home page then focus your link building on your home page. If you are able to rank on position 10 for your keyword that means you have a sound SEO knowledge and what you need is rinse and repeat.
Which internal page is ranking? maybe to save time, further monetize the internal page since it is already highly ranked. Also go ahead and run a link building campaign for your homepage. Have you also though of trying to rank for other related keywords to your main keyword in order to draw in more traffic?
