I suggest you thorougly read everything possible in the adwords learning center before jumping in blindly Also... you have chosen a SUPER COMPETITIVE niche, a newbie to adwords is likely to get eaten alive and lose all kinds of money You won't learn enough by taking bits and pieces from this forum, you need to get properly educated Start here first
well if you pocket $17 per sale here is the math. Assume you want a 2:1 ROI and conversion ratio is 1%. You will need 100 visitors to make 1 sale. ROI tells us you can only afford to spend $8.50 per sale. If it takes 100 visitors to buy your product then $0.08 - $0.09 is your targeted average CPC. A product like this is going to be very competitive online in the PPC realm since there is probably 100 other people attempting to sell the same thing for the same keywords. I recommend bidding on highly targeted keywords like "marketing with youtube" where there is no competition. Also, the content network is probably a better opportunity as well, if you target make money online sites, marketing sites and etc... The lower the profit margin the less you will be able to afford per click, trying to make a profit out of such a cheap item is no easy task.
