Need help with laptop > Tv connection

    Hey guys, if any of you are familiar with multiple outputs on vista please help me.
    I have an Asus 950V Nvidia 9800GS
    I go to the Nvidia Control Panel, have my HDMI cabels plugged in and all. I select the Philips HD Display to use and then hit Apply. A screen comes up asking me if I'm sure and I say yes and then it just nreverts back to notebook display. I CAN'T SET IT!
    This thing is driving me crazy, it sees my tv, it sees the HDMI, but when it allows me to connect everything it just reverts back like I didn't select anything.
    Anyone know the possible problem?
