Few months before I was just trying to optimize for keywords by my understanding that they would give me more searches when I got on 1st page for them there were no hits

Than some one said to me to go with keyword tool

Now I am targetting keywords like Cheap web design etc for which there are abt 14000 searches but now problem is someone said that even if I for them there will not be any sale or it will not be that beneficial. They told me that go for local keywords like web design london etc.

Now when I search for web design london in keyword tool it has less searches. So which keyword is best?

What you think of keyword cheap web design?

I would target "cheap web design?" because it has more competitor. Usually more specific keyword is better because it has less competitor

Just use wordtracker or some keyword researcher tool.

Go ahead and use long tail keywords to make them even more specific and narrow the competition.
