Need help with image background

    Hi.
    I want to dispaly an image in the background in my website link in ask.com themes or bing.com
    One big image like in that sites takes a long time to load. But in bing and ask.com its very fast. How can they do this?
    Can someone help me with this??

    You can't really control the speed at which a given browser loads an image. There are too many factors. User's processor speed, internet speed, graphics accelerators etc.

    The best thing you can do is find the smallest file size for your image. I sometimes save images as .jpg .gif .png .bmp and look at the file size.

    There are other things you can do too sometimes reducing the color depth will decrease the size. The point is it's all about the image size.

    For instance Bing's images are about 30000 bytes and is has about 82000 colors. Ask is about 60000 bytes and has about 12000 colors.
