Need HELP with ijoomla magazine!

I've been using my desktop to teach myself various platforms and how to run them before I do it for real. I installed joomla on localhost and then used joomla's installer to install Ijoomla Magazine component.

The component shows up under "components" and also lets me add a new magazine. But once I try to add a new issue, it won't save or apply. The entire menu up top (save, apply, close, etc.) does not respond whatsoever and in IE8 there's a small comment at the status bar on the bottom of the browser that says "errors on page".

I was wondering why my localhost home page (joomla home page) would not show any magazine layouts or templates or any change for that matter and i think it's because an issue needs to be created before it does anything.

    HELP please
