Ok so i a complete newbie to DNS so bare with it.

So the typical story, i have a linux VPS running plesk 8 and want to host multiple sites on a shared IP.

I've set up the domains within plesk but don't know how to make all the sites resolve correctly. This is what the current DNS settings within plesk are:

    <IP address> PTR domain.co.uk.
    ftp.domain.co.uk. CNAME domain.co.uk.
    mail.domain.co.uk. A <IP address>
    ns.domain.co.uk. A <IP address>
    webmail.domain.co.uk. A <IP address>
    domain.co.uk. NS ns.domain.co.uk.
    domain.co.uk. NS ns2.domain.co.uk.
    domain.co.uk. A <IP address>
    domain.co.uk. MX (10) mail.domain.co.uk.
    www.domain.co.uk. CNAME domain.co.uk.

Ok so now i head over to my registrar and change the nameservers for one of the domains to ns.domain.co.uk & ns2.domain.co.uk and then input the IP address <IP address>.

(not literally ns.domain.co.uk and <IP address> but the ones associated with the domain)

Up until this point all is good. The first site resolves correctly.

Now i attempt to do the same for a domain2 and it goes wrong. I attempt to change the nameservers to ns.domain2.co.uk and ns2.domain2.co.uk and enter the same IP address as i did for domain1. The site doesn't resolve.

Am i right in assuming that you cannot do this?

My registrar allows me to change settings (A, CNAME, MX etc) To allow me to point all the domains to the same IP am i to leave the nameservers as the registrars (ns1.registrarnamserver.com) and just change the A records for each domain?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!
