I havent had much luck getting web sites to respond to my requests to ask them to add my link on there sites. These are all sites that my competitors have links already on. (These are very relevant sites, boating sites) Can anyone give me any suggestions on a way to get people to respond back to my requests? Also I am considering offering to purchase links on their sites also. (The ones that have alot of traffic) does anyone have a suggestion on how to approch site owners about this? Thanks for your help.
When i send emails i usually follow this structure 1. say your looking for links on their site 2. compliment their site 3. tell them your site 4. tell them how many visitors you get and how they can expect some traffic back 5. thank them for their time 6. sometimes its good to already have a link to their site on yours when you send the email also i steer clear of asking for links on competing sites and concentrate on sites that are related to the same niche. Hope that helps
Thanks, none of these sites are competing sites, most of them are boating clubs, or general boating information sites. Most of them arent even selling anything. I havent tried putting their link on my page first, mostly because I am more interested in getting inbound links to boost my rankings on google.
ahh okay, well you may struggle to get links if you are only taking and not giving anything. You may need to go down the pay for links route in that case. Unless you get a lot of traffic and you can say you may bring them traffic. I usually use paid links or link services for the inbound links Then i use link exchanges with related sites, as usually i get some traffic for them and it wont harm your serps. Also remember that google is the not the only search engine. On one of my sites i get 600 uv a day and only around 30 are from google most from yahoo. Although i am working on improving serps for google atm.
But will it help my search results? Thats why I havent exchanged links, I seem to always hear different answers about link exchanges.
i am no expert, but sometimes links can mean more than just your serps. You may get nice directed traffic from them. Also like i said before. Just because the big G may have ruled out some methods for gaining good serps doesnt mean that the other search engines have. Many people forget about Yahoo =)
kraven GO THIS WAY.... I recently came across your site through search on internet and found it informative for our site's visitors. I would like to exchange links with your site. As you probably aware, reciprocal linking benefits both of us by raising our search engine rankings and generating more traffic to both of our sites. I will place ( or already placed ) your link in my site at http://www.------------- I would appreciate if you would place a link back to my site. My site details: Title : Description : site url : Send me your link Title or Description of your site and I would happy to take care of it. Thanks for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you. To unsubscribe.... reply to this email with Unsubscribe in the subject line. Thanks & Regards See I use this method earlier and it does work on 90% of times...
Also another idea i was thinking of doing is making another info type site related to the same niche then requesting that they link back to my ecommerce site from their site and i will link to them from my info site. Therefore you can work on getting links to both your info and ecommerce shop without losing out on the recipical linking
Great ..but getting some quality content on your info site is also a daunting task..Isn't it??? ( as using it just because you want to use it..for links is something no that recommended...).
yeah but the info will be relevant to the ecommerce site meaning you can easily link between the two. So if you can get some nice traffic coming to the info site then you get directed traffic to your ecommerce site. Plus quality content is very easy to write if you use the right sources.
