When i put same domain name in different appraisal sites i get completely different values, can you please recommend a good and reliable free appraisal site. Thank you
esibot is what much of whats out there is based on. I dont think anything is doing great yet, all domains being one of a kind and we are just sorting it all out. I use a small percentage of esibot for what I think its worth, unless I think ....what people search for doesnt, nor cant take brandable names or phrases that dont get tons of searches. All one of a kind and people are just starting to sort out money and changing spending patterns and the like. GL
None of the auto-valuers are good. Use previous sale patterns of similar domains to get a good idea of domain value.
I agree, I don't think any of the automatic appraisal sites are any good. They don't take into account many factors.
You're welcome to use the appraisal tool on Generic Domain Finder for free: http://genericdomainfinder.com/appraisal As people say, automatic appraisal tools like this one, or estibot are not perfect - but they can be useful if you're trying to review a few hundred domain names every day - to pick out the names that have potential value. You can just paste any text you want containing domain names into Generic Domain Finder, and it will pick out the domain names in there, and give you an estimated value. I think it will let you appraise 50 names at a time. A few other clues you can use to figure out the value of a domain are - how many of the extensions of a domain name were registered? If you see that the .com, net, org, info, biz, and us all have been registered, you can guess that the domain is more valuable, than a domain where just the .com has been registered. Also, keep an eye on the weekly sales report from DNJournal: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm You can get a good idea of what kind of domain names are selling and for how much. DN Journal reports most public sales of $1,000 or more.
