Need help with AdSense placement

    I am completely new to this. How do I place AdSense on my forum? I have gone through all the threads on the topic here but I still don't understand. I guess it must be because I use an old version... phpBB 2.0.6 ... and the instructions are for the new ones. I want to place AdSense on the main index page first. Can you give me step by step instructions please? I'd really appreciate help in this.

    AdSense earnings on forums are HORRIBLE. You must have bucketloads of traffic to make something worth of note.
