All of those programs are free and they work wonders.

    Give SuperAntiSpyware a try. It's a very good detector/cleaner.

Winlogon is not an virus its an legitmate application of window process. I am an malware analyst. If u got any problem in logging in your computer then the registry entry of winlogons data part would be replaced by any malicious file . go to reg edit and check and replace ...

Winlogon.exe virus will disable some of your computer function such as it prevent you from changing the folder option, disabled your antivirus from functioning and more.

The step below works for me :D

Go to START > RUN > type MSCONFIG > on tab, click at Startup > scroll the startup item called "winlogon.exe". disabled it ( Winlogon is one of the most important file for Windows OS to operate, without this, I don't think you'll able to log in to your Windows, THE REAL winlogon.exe will not show in MSCONFIG STARTUP ITEM and located in C:\WINDOWS\system32 << Never delete this. If you found Winlogon.exe other places mean it's a virus camouflage as winlogon to fool you.

    Save and Restart it.

I'm using kaspersky, it still won't function until I repair it. Note that the step above don't actually delete the virus, just disabled it only. :D

Use Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. It works almost perfect. It does not slow down the computer and works for most of the viruses.

get a free antivirus solution like AVG or Avast and run a full system scan. When you've resolved the problem, purchase a full internet security package from one of these to secure your PC for good. They both include firewall software

WInlogon is considered as a spyware.
It hide it's contents as a windows based login file system.
    -launch run window
    -write cmd ,press ok
    -type "taskkill/IM winlogon.exe",press enter
-restart pc and open it at safe mode by pressing f8
-Click "Start," "(My) Computer" and double-click the "C:" drive icon. Choose "Program Files" and then select "winlogon.exe." press "Delete" so that the file will be removed from the computer. Restart the computer system and allow it to boot normally.
