Hi all. During 1 week I asked a lot of people about how to redirect URL with %20 but I didn't find any answer. I need to redirect this URLs:

    http://site.net/es/author/David Smith/
    http://site.net/author/David Smith/

I tried a lot of things but didn't get solutions. Later I found this forum and hope here I will find the correct answer.

The thing is that on goolge webmaster tool due to this error I got more than 100 not found pages and my site everyday is losing ranking. I really need your help

    Thanks

The standard recommends to use a 301 redirect when a page has been permanently moved to a new address.
    301 Redirect and Search Engines

According to RFC2616, search engines should forget the redirecting address and save the address pointed to by the redirection as the preferred address.

When a page has been moved to a permanent new address, Google recommends to use a 301 redirect. But, strangely enough, the leading search engine often needs weeks or months to take this information into account in its search results.

If it is not so difficult, try to do it yourself. I also posted on htaccesstools forum but there is no answer. I posted on goolge webmaster help forum and no answer. I read I should use \ to escape special characters but it didn't work. The thing is that the traditional way of 301 redirect doesn't work with %20 in URL.
