Need help- video sharing website on wordpress

Hi frnds,
I need some urgent help. I m making a small video sharing website on wordpress. Need help in choosing some good free wordpress themes & plugins.
I'll be mainly displaying self hosted videos. The homepage needs to have some text and images describing the website, but also thumbnails displaying latest videos posted.

Which is the best theme or plugin or both to do all the above mentioned things?

Will that customised coding automatically show that latest videos uploaded?

Podpress is the definitive plugin to use for your videos.

There are many good themes out there you could use. I would focus on finding one that matches the look you want, and then customize it to your liking. If you don't mind spending a little money, I would go with one of the Revolution Themes by Brian Gardner.

In terms of adding some code for the front page to show the latest videos, that is very easy. You'd run a query to the database for a specific category, which in this case would be your video category. You'd replace the number 6 below with the number of your category and the showposts= to however many posts you want displayed. In this case it's 5.
