Need help VB settings against spam users

    Hey ya'll, i have 3 VB licenses (their versions are 3.6.5, 3.8.1, and 3.8.4)

    I was getting SO many spam users that beat the CAPTCHA and email verifications. So I had to disable user registrations. Obviously this kills the chance of my boards growing.

    So, is there some certain, specific settings someone can walk me through to help me out, to open user registration but weed out the spam users?

    Have you tried using randomized questions that only humans can answer (e.g. "what is the color of grass", "which month is the last one in a calendar" etc.)? They work very well for me and aren't so annoying as CAPTCHAs.

    Hi, use few anti spam plugins & don't allow users to post links before their post count exceeds a limit, you may use Advanced Permissions Based on Post Count for such settings.

    Install GlowHost Spam-O-Matic and it should be alright. It blocks thousands of spammer registrations for us and works on email and IP address database.
