Picture a car site, with each carmaker being covered separately.. You don't want to mix them because people reading and commenting on GM won't care about Toyota, etc. I'm using this as an example btw. I'm tearing my hair out regarding the best way to handle this. I could use categories, but again, I'm trying to keep the content and side content separate. So far it's looking like keeping a structure like: carsite.com/GM carsite.com/Toyota carsite.com/Honda etc. With a separate wordpress folder and install in each folder.. My only concern is the management of multiple wordpress's. It seems that having to upgrade several and manage several at a time could be a pain in the arse. Anyone ever done something similar and find a more efficient way of doing it? If I'm being too vague, please ask questions, I just don't want to get too tangential Thanks
Try WordPress Mu One install, as many blogs as you want, on subdomains or directories. It's the same version used on WordPress.com for free blogs. So you only upgrade once. The bad part is that some plugins or themes made for WordPress might not work for the Mu version, but you'll have to test that out yourself .
