I need some help uploading some info to my website, I am not a programmer, and am quite new to this part of online business, so please use dumb downed laymans terms so that I can understand. I'm learning, but I'm still not to smart in this area:p

I've uploaded a file before to my website, but it was just to the homepage and I didn't have any problems doing it.

I'm now trying to upload some info to a subdomain and seem to be having some problems.

I created the subdomain, then went to my software I use to upload files (FTP I think it's called) but it gives me the following error message.

    Publishing Failed
The server is not available. Check your connection and try again later.

I have tried to follow all the instructions given, but I seem to be doing something wrong.

My website is with yahoo, and I use Ewen Chia's My Free Website Builder.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the software I'm using, it seems of high quality with a nice simple layout. I think I'm the one making the mistake, but I can't figure it out.

Also, I don't know if it matters, but when I created the subdomain yahoo made me choose a forwarding location. I had to choose one of the following.
    /
    tmp
    yahoo_site_admin
    images

I just chose / but I don't really know what that means.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What is your domain URL? Is that a free host from Yahoo!, geocities?

Not sure about your connection issues BUT if you chose "/" as the forwarding location then most likely your subdomain is now pointing to your main domain.

You need to create a new folder (Ex: sub) in your main directory and then forward the subdomain to that new folder. Then open that folder and place your subdomain files into it.

Unless Yahoo automatically creates a subfolder with the name of your subdomain. Not sure.
