I just opened a hostgator account where I plan to have multiple websites under one package. I have one wp website with 1 and 1. I also have over 25 domain names with them. I understand that on the domain names all I have to do is point them to a new DNS from hostgator but I am unsure about transfering the complete website. Do I activate fantastico on my new website then ftp old site to my harddrive and then ftp up to new server at hostgator? also Does anyone know how I would place multiple web sites or wp sites on same package. do I use fantastico multiple times or just once. Need major help!!! thanks
You need to backup all your current database, restore in new server, upload all the files. Then edit the wordpress configuration file and update MySQL database name, user name and password. Then change the name servers of the domain to new host.
