    Hello dear members !

I intend to have a sever with Server 2008 R2 Standard to get it split into VPS(s) and I have some questions and need your help!

    1) What I need to get it split easily and efficiently?
    2) What I need (of software or else) to protect from any attack, what is the best way to safeguard it?

    Thanks for your help !

2008 R2 comes with Hyper-V R2 Virtualisation Manager, and it's free, but you can only install 1 virtual instance with a Standard licence. Any more, and you will need additional OS licences, or a change of OS licence. You may need to install the role. We use both Hyper-V and VMWare Server, and much prefer Hyper-V R2. If it's for hosting other companies then the only way to do this legitimately is through an SPLA with Microsoft (Google will find it).

If you want to use it for persoal purpose I would suggest vmware, if you like to offer vps service to people you can try out virtuozzo.
