It is really very simple - and maybe not quite as serious as indicated in the title. I always go for a Wordpress site. It's easy to set up, I know the plugins and there are so many small tricks to play around with. My brother in law always go for Joomla - says it fits his website building a lot better (that Wordpress), and he insists that the blogging format is stupid for a (professional) website. Much as I tend to try and see things from his perspective, the resolute rejection of Wordpress gets me angry and a bit stubborn. Now I can't see why Wordpress doesn't do everything the web is about. In other words; I am more enthusiastic about Wordpress than ever before. Help me out here... Give me a poll and a good (the more technical the better) reason for choosing between the two. If for some reason you find other applications far supperior to Joomla and Wordpress, get yourself ready for a good argument
I'm interested in this info too. One question - how often have you needed to update WordPress security wise? Did it involve manual edits or was there just a script to run? Cheers
Business sites tend not to have comments and tend to have more static pages. I'd go for Joomla too. That said, for my husband's really small biz site I'm tempted to convert it to WordPress as Joomla would be overkill.
