Im making my uncle a website for his construction company and found one that he likes. I want to clone it and than just add his own info, graphics, etc... I see this website has the .htm on every page not html, is there a difference? Also, which way is the best and fast way to clone this website. let me know. http://www.cisandiego.com/index.htm
not much different for .html and .html as you want to make the exact copy of the same - just save the pages in your computer and then edit those pages for content and name and upload it... hope this helps...
There is no difference as the user above stated. I'm not exactly sure how honest it is copying someone else's site without there permission but that's just me
im just using their website as a idea, its a local thing and we are far away from each other, so theres no competition between us.
then also its okay... if you want just save the page you will get the same layout and later you have to edit graphics and content and it will be your website... if not- then best would be to hire someone and get it done...
Man, its waste of time to copy, do it ure self man... Ure uncle will be proud of u! And if u r going to copy that site, u need to do lot of hard work.. u need to rip for eks .swf.
i mnot worried about .swf files, im pretty good with flash, but he decided not to have the flash thing on the main page. im almost done with the website, all i need to do is add images and make the contact forms, php files, etc... http://advancedcarpentryinc.com Do any of you have any ideas how i can make the mail forms work?
I don't like the ideal that you copied someone else's site. It's your choice so. and you did make it turn out nice tho, So congrats.
What makes you think it's okay to steal a design and artwork just because you're not competing for the same clients? If you're going to steal someone's copyrighted material you might not want to post a link to the site your stealing AND a link to the site it's being stolen for. You're just looking for a lawsuit. Just my two cents..

This site is purely develop in html or using editor like dreamweaver or front page. For developing this site u need photoshop skills and knowledge of frontpage and dreamweaver. But if u can not develop ur own theme then hire someone or buy one theme ... templatemonster themes are really cool. if need any help u can ask me.
