    If you don't know how to choose just go with the best, hostgator, blue host, dreamhost, in my experience it is always good to stay away from GoDaddy...

    I've never had a problem with fasthosts. if your checking to see if domain names are available don't do it on a domain providers website, especially godaddy. They will take everything you serach for. I learn't this the hard way. Just put the domain you're thinking of in the address bar of your browser and see if it exists.

    Personally I prefer namecheap.com for domain registration and hostgator.com for hosting. Morandi is right about doing searches for domain names and some companies saying the domain is taken, especially if you don't search and buy it right then!
