Hows everybody doing, good? Good...I am a webmaster newb and i have a few questions here... my site is www.sneakerobsession.com ...Every so often i will search in google for posts i have made just to see where we rank...For about the past 2weeks or more i have noticed my posts arent really showing up in the google search results...Majority of the traffic coming to my site through search engines are all getting linked to old posts...Google is not indexing my recent posts..I have noticed some sites get indexed right away or a day later, im still pushing like 2-3 weeks to get some pages indexed...Is there a reason to this? Something im doing wrong or something i should be doing instead? Robot.txt files...I have no idea what so ever what these are and if i even need one or not...I know i dont have one within my files...If i do infact need one what do i even include in it? Whats the purpose of it and how do i know what codes to put in it? Its a wordpress blog and i use a few wordpress plugins...For example, the Google SEO plugin when u put in the title, description and keywords after every post...I also have a sitemap plugin which creates a new sitemap everyday and pings it to google...I also use the google webmaster tools and i have submitted the site way that way as well...On that i have noticed when google downloads my sitemap but even after they download it the posts still arent indexed...
The best way I know of is to get backlinks to the pages the posts are on. Maybe find some pr blogs and leave RELEVANT non-spam comments. These should get crawled pretty quick. Next I would submit your posts to digg, get them stumbled etc (add the buttons to your blogs?) You may want to try the freebies section of the trade forum here on DP for getting stumbled or getting diggs... People will often swap etc... so get a digg account and a stumble account. Personally I wouldnt digg my own articles, just use your account to digg other people in exchange for them doing the same. basically, get the word out ad get backlinks... google will find you then no probs. Hope that helps, others may disagree, but thats just my .50cents worth. Maybe ping your blog using www.kping.com also... once you have new posts up. Just an idea. what is the subject of your blog? - why not interview someone on there that has a site, and get them to link to the interview from their site? - something like that maybe??? Anywayz, I hope something from the above helps...
thanks for the info.. my site is indexed, it just seems like the newer posts take a hell of a long time for google to index...eventhough there may have been a google bot on my pages for everyday for the past week the system still wont index those posts...So when i go to search for them i get abunch of other sites with the same info but yet mine is nowhere to be found within the results...I also set up a custom google search page, when i use it to search for connent on my site half the posts dont show up when searching for certain things...I know the posts are their, they just arent being indexed...Ill get maybe 3 results when theres probably about 20 on the site
