I am having trouble getting co-op text ads to show up on some old forums on my websites taht are indexed and google. When I attempt to validate my site, the forums always mess it up. I have put the code in simple_footer.tpl, simpl_header.tpl, overall_header.tpl, and overall_footer.tpl. No luck. I am really stumped. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong?
When I attempt to validate my domain I get errors like this: http://www.avrillavignefan.com/forum/login.php?sid=381b5cbe170c8e4035b178167423fb54 I have the same problem with some other sites like goodcharlotteband.com/forum/ and hoobastanksongs.com/forum/. Thanks so much.
It does it about half the time. It doesnt always pull one of those forum links from Google. Some of those times are when the network websites are checked to ensure ads are being displayed on every page. I can't get ads to display on those pages, so my account is automatically unvalidated and all my weight is lost. Therefore, I need help getting ads on those pages. (the error being in the first post in the thread). Thanks!
i think i know what you are doing wrong... heh well you have put the code in the the tpl file, which is used by another php to determine the layout. I assume that it is not getting parsed properly by php. You will need to add it to the template engine and store the output in a variable to output on the foot tpl file. just an idea... cant remember how phpbb does things... but that sounds like the problem you are having... but hey i might be wrong..
To back-up the last comment, phpBB's tpl files are not parsed for PHP, secondly, even if they are, inserting PHP in them would have security implications (viewable by user). You should add the relevant code to the most logical phpBB php file, buffer the output and assign it to a phpBB template variable, and then reference the variable in the tpl file. phpBB includes documentation that will help you do this. [Edit: I probably should have read Jul's comment fully - mine pretty much repeated his]
nullbit/juls (or anyone else), Would you mind explaining just a little more...I am close to understanding, but not quite there yet. Thanks, brandon
Sweet, found this in the unofficial faq: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/setup.php?type=4 helps with phpBB setup
